The view looks straight up a narrow street toward the church tower, white walls on both sides and deep morning shadows cutting across them. Maryna painted this on location in a single session. You can feel it in the washes, the way the light sits inside the paper rather than being painted on top of it.
There is a woman in red at the bottom of the street. She is small, almost a detail, but she is what keeps the painting from being purely architectural.
